Gun Dog Training (Waterfowl and Upland for Retrievers, and Spaniels)

We understand at Oak Lane Retrievers that there are not 2 dogs alike, because of this fact we Taylor our program to each dog, as every dog has different strength and weaknesses. You tell us what you want in your Gun Dog and we will make our program fit the needs of your dog.

What to expect from Basic Retriever Training (4 month program)

  • A FULLY OBEDIENCE TRAINED DOG (SIT, HEEL, HERE, DOWN, WAIT, COME WHISTLE, SIT ON WHISTLE ECT.)

  • STEADY TO GUN SHOT

  • MULTIPLE MARKS

  • INTRODUCED TO BIRDS

  • WORING OUT OF A BOAT, AND ON LAND

  • WORKING OFF OF A DOG STAND

  • FORCE FETCHED/HOLD CONDITIONED (DEPENDING ON DOG)

  • CAN BE E COLLAR CONDITIONED (WE LEAVE THIS UP TO THE OWNER)

  • EXPOSED TO DECOYS ON LAND AND WATER (TEXAS RAGS, SHELLS, LUCKY DUCKS, FLYERS)


 

Basic Obedience (All Breeds)

For our clients who are not hunters, but are wanting a well trained obedient dog, we offer an 8 week program for basic obedience. This program is for all breeds of dogs.

  • DOWN

  • WAIT AT A DOOR WAY

  • KENNEL UP

  • LEARN TO PLACE TO A DOG BED
